Getting organized...Part One

Life is hectic. It seems like my life has gotten crazy busy since boy #3 joined the family! I was looking in my walk-in pantry and I noticed papers everywhere. It was a stressful mess.

I found this hang up organizer in my Thirty One catalog and I LOVE it! I hung it behind the door in our pantry and it has made such a difference. Everything is where it needs to be. I am thinking about getting another one and hanging it in the laundry room on the door that leads to the garage. This way I would see it right before we headed out...no forgetting stuff anymore!

My coffee just got better...thanks to Torani

Did I mention...

Yep, I'm a big coffee fan. And thanks to She Speaks I got to try Torani flavored syrup...which makes my coffee even better! This morning I made a homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte. I used Torani Pumpkin Pie syrup and gave it rave reviews.

Laundry room project

Living in a house with four boys equals lots of blue and no pink. I decided to make my laundry room the pink place in the house. I do spend a considerable amount of time there...

I framed my 2 favorite quotes to hang above the coat hooks. "She belived she could, so she did and "Nothing that is done for children is ever wasted."

Homemade chalkboard craft

Super easy and cheap. Makes a great gift. I used it as a "Don't forget" board so I would see it right before I left the house. You could make one for a to-do list or a menu board for the kitchen.

Supplies:
I used a wooden board from Hobby Lobby, in the wood section-1.99
Chalkboard spray paint, you can get this at any craft store.
Scrapbook paper and adhesive letters.

First I painted the trim hot pink and let it dry overnight.
Use painter's tape to tape off the trim.
I put on 3 coats of chalkboard paint and let it dry for 4 hours.
Use scrapbook paper or ribbon to make your heading.

Total cost: $7

Fun and easy craft!

I made this for my kitchen. It is a flowerpot with "flower pens". Very cute sitting out on the counter and easy to make.
All you need is:
Flower top; cut off the stem with scissors or pliers.
Pens. I used black Bic pens
Floral tape
Hot glue gun
Flowerpot and filler of your choice.
Take the flower top and glue it on to the top of the pen.
Once dry, wrap the pen in floral tape, you can also wrap the cap. I left mine uncapped.
Let the tape dry overnight and then arrange pens in the pot!

Organizing a Stockpile

Since I started couponing I have gotten a little bit of a stockpile, mostly personal care items. I have been trying to find a way to get it all organized and easy to find. I don't want to forget about a stash, so I try to leave them where I can find them easily. For example, I recently got several boxes of dryer sheets which I leave stacked up in the laundry room.
For the personal care items, I organized them into bins and put labels on each bin.

Finally...Justice for Sheri and her Boys!

On the 2 year anniversary of their murders, Chris Coleman was found guilty of killing his wife and 2 sons. I have followed this story from the beginning and it is really heartbreaking. Sheri seemed like an incredible mother. What a horrible loss. Rest in peace.

Jackson is 9 months!

I cannot believe my sweet boy is already 9 months old! It seems like he should still be a tiny newborn. He has brought our family so much happiness, definitely a bonus baby!

Simple Spring Cleaning

Collin's Big Boy Room

Well, it looks like my middle son is growing up. We moved him into a big boy bed and decorated his room to match. I found the furniture at Target.com.... reasonably priced and super cute! I added a few fun accents to finish the room. If they could just stay little forever...
