I have been looking for curtains for the family room. It is hard to find the perfect curtains, that's for sure. Then, when you do find them, they're $199 a panel. So a few great options are tablecloths, shower curtains, or making your own. I decided to be lazy and not make my own for this room.
I found these shower curtains at West Elm, on sale for $31 each. I used curtain rings and simply hung them. I think I am finally happy with the curtains in this room!

Simple coffee treat!
She Speaks and Torani sent me 2 bottles of syrup to try out. Salted Caramel and Gingerbread :) This is the perfect time of year for flavored hot drinks.
I made my coffee as usual and added a few tablespoons of the salted caramel syrup. Plus one packet of Splenda, topped with whip cream. Easy and delicious!

DIY Chevron curtains
I love Chevron prints. I looked everywhere for curtains for my bedroom with a chevron print. I found some....for $150 a panel! So, I decided to make them myself!
I went to JoAnn Fabrics and found tons of chevron prints in several colors. The fabric cost me $45 and the I simply used Stitch Witchery to fuse the hems. I bought curtain clips and clipped them on the top hem. Super easy....each panel took about 1.5 hours to make. Total cost: $65 for fabric, clips and stitch witchery! Then, I used my leftover fabric to make a pillow cover for the bed....also using no sew stitch witchery.

Bye Bye Builder Oak!
We had our home built 7 years ago.....and that outdated blonde oak is everywhere. There is nothing wrong with oak, but it's just not for me. People have told me it's a "sin" to cover natural oak. Well, then I guess I'm a sinner because I love the results!
This required lots of sanding, which is never fun. I used Rust-Oleum Ultimate Wood Stain in Kona, which is similar to an espresso wood color. I simply followed the directions on the stain and then applied a top coat of polyurethane. I would recommended finding a gel stain because the regular stuff is messy!

Gallery Wall
I love pictures. I have them all over the house.....everywhere. So I thought this would be a great way to display pictures, plus I love the look of a gallery wall. I did use a level and tape measure to hang all the frames, much easier that way!

Easy Playroom Storage
I love storage bins. They are great for kids toys, throw it in the bin and your done. I wanted to have functional storage in the kids playroom, but was having a hard time finding the right furniture at an AFFORDABLE price.
My answer was Closetmaid storage from Target. I used 3 pieces, the storage bench as the middle. The bench cushion only came in tan so I covered it with a cute print.
So much better!

Wow...new favorite lotion!
I know I have talked about Smiley360 in the past....and I seriously love them! Periodically I will be invited to sign up for a mission and I get to try and review a product for free :)
Recently they sent me a sample of Vaseline Total Moisture lotion and I love it! It's inexpensive and can be found at most mass-merchandisers. It leaves my skin feeling soft all day long....which is what a busy mom needs.
